EWTN USES PEJORATIVE TERM FOR CATHOLIC SISTERS

EWTN USES PEJORATIVE TERM FOR CATHOLIC SISTERS

Fr. Leonard Feeney affirmed the Catholic dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus which says de facto everyone with no exception needs to enter the Catholic Church for salvation. This would be endorsed by Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II and Pope John Paul II’s Dominus Iesus (2000). Fr. Leonard Feeney’s understanding of extra ecclesiam nulla salus is taught by Catholic sisters. The sisters in the Diocese of Worcester,USA have been granted canonical status by the Catholic Church. The sisters are pejoratively referred to as feeneyites.

In the TRAGIC ERRORS OF LEONARD FEENEY by Fr. William Most (Eternal Word Television Network) ,available on Google if you access: Fr.Leonard Feeney,  there is a reference to ‘a Feenyite’. Fr.William G. Most also has an article on the website of EWTN (Click on Faith, Teachings, Catholic Church and then The Church and Salvation).

In The Church and Salvation by Fr.William G.Most, on the EWTN website, he writes :

Fr. Most : From the fact that the Church is God's means of giving grace, it is clear that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church.

Note: He refers to implicit and explicit salvation. He refers to those who are members of the Catholic Church, with Catholic Faith and Baptized with water, and those saved without the Sacraments of the Church.

Fr. Most : This truth has even been defined by the Church more than once, e.g., in the Council of Florence in 1442.
Note: False. The Council of Florence said that everyone needed to enter the Church for salvation. The reference was only to explicit salvation.

Fr. Most: However we must take care to understand this teaching the way the Church understands it.
Note: He was probably confused here so he left this line vague.
Since, if you say de facto there is implicit salvation, you reject the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus which refers only to explicit salvation (Council of Florence etc). Everyone has to explicitly enter the Catholic Church to go to Heaven.
If you say God’s grace in general is received implicitly by non Catholics and they are saved you reject the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (explicit entry in the Church).
If you say extra ecclesiam nulla salus refers to implicit and explicit salvation, as does Fr. Most  above, you reject the dogma as taught by the Councils, popes and saints. It is a new doctrine.
If you say that extra ecclesiam nulla salus has been rejected by Vatican Council II Lumen Gentium 16 you are rejecting Ad Gentes 7 and Lumen Gentium 14 which affirms the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

So it is an illogical position held by EWTN even if Fr.Most suggests it is the teaching of the Catholic Church.

Fr. Most :We just saw that the Church claims the exclusive authority to interpret both Scripture and Tradition.
Note: However Fr. William G. Most is teaching a new doctrine according to personal interpretation.
He is saying extra ecclesiam nulla salus refers to implicit and explicit salvation. This is illogical and irrational.

Fr. Most : So one like Leonard Feeney
Note: ‘like’ is a pejorative description. We are to love all people.

Fr. Most: ‘…who interprets the teaching on the necessity of the Church his own way is not acting like a Catholic theologian at all.
Note: Fr. Leonard Feeney was famous for saying that everyone needs to enter the Catholic Church to go to Heaven and avoid Hell. This was the dogma so he was not ‘trying to be a theologian’.

Fr. Most:The Holy Office, on August 8, 1949, declared that L. Feeney was guilty of this error.
Note: In his report the TRAGIC ERRORS OF LEONARD FEENEY, Fr.Most writes
‘First, he was excommunicated for disobedience, refusing to go to Rome to explain his position…’ So it was not for heresy.

Here he suggests it is for heresy.

Fr. Most: Because of his error,
Note: Which error? Heresy?

Fr. Most: ‘… he rejected several teachings of the Magisterium, saying they clashed with this definition
Note: Which teachings? The issue is extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Fr. Most: - but they clash only with his false interpretation, given in private judgment.
Note: Which false interpretation? He was not excommunicated for his interpretation but for disobedience.

EWTN states ‘one like’ Fr. Leonard Feeney and Fr. Most calls the Catholic Sisters feenyites.

INTERDICT OF ARCHBISHOP RICHARD CUSHING APPLIES TO ARCHDIOCESE OF BOSTON TODAY: APOLOGY AWAITED

INTERDICT OF ARCHBISHOP RICHARD CUSHING APPLIES TO ARCHDIOCESE OF BOSTON TODAY: APOLOGY AWAITED

Here is the interdict issued by the Archbishop of Boston

Richard J. Cushing, Archbishop of Boston – Decree Regarding Leonard Feeney, April 18, 1949
Rev. Leonard Feeney, S.J., because of grave offense against the laws of the Catholic Church has lost the right to perform any priestly function, including preaching and teaching of religion.
Any Catholics who frequent St. Benedict’s Center, or who in any way take part in or assist its activities forfeit the right to receive the Sacrament of Penance and Holy Eucharist.
Given at Boston on the 18th day of April, 1949.
In 1972 Fr. Leonard Feeney had the excommunicated lifted without him having to recant or retract his statement.
In 1949 the Holy Office in a Letter to Archbishop Richard Cushing affirmed the ‘dogma’ and the ‘infallible’ teaching. The infallible dogma and the infallible teaching of extra ecclesiam nulla salus meant exactly what Fr. Leonard Feeney,St. Benedict Center, popes and Councils taught i.e. de facto all people with no exception need to enter the Catholic Church to go to Heaven. This was an ex cathedra teaching at the Council of Trent.

Influenced by the above unjust interdiction of Archbishop Richard Cushing the Vatican excommunicated Fr. Leonard Feeney for disobedience to the Archbishop in 1953. The Archbishop would never affirm the dogma. Neither would he clarify the press reports saying that the Catholic Church has changed its teaching on extra ecclesia nulla salus. In 1972 the excommunication was lifted.

Vatican Council II would follow and Ad Gentes 7 would say that all people need Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water for salvation.

Today the Archbishop of Boston Cardinal Sean O’Malley and priests of the Ecumenical and Inter Religious Affairs Deptt. of the Archdiocese will not affirm the dogma nor Ad Gentes 7,Vatican Council II.
Consider the same words of the 1949 Decree by Archbishop Richard Cushing and see if it applies to the Archdiocese today.

‘.... because of grave offense against the laws of the Catholic Church has lost the right to perform any priestly function, including preaching and teaching of religion.
‘Any Catholics who frequent..., or who in any way take part in or assist its activities forfeit the right to receive the Sacrament of Penance and Holy Eucharist.’ (Emphasis added)
Also an apology is due for the injustice to Fr. Leonard Feeney and the Catholic professors who were expelled from Boston College for affirming the dogma, which, the Archbishop and the Jesuits rejected.
Fr. Leonard Feeney was also removed from the Jesuit community.

He founded the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Two of his communities who uphold his teachings have been granted canonical status by the Catholic Church.
A Catholic who publically rejects a dogma is in mortal sin. He has no right to receive the Eucharist. A priest has no right to celebrate Holy Mass in this condition according to Canon Law.
The scandal needs to be publically cleared.

BOSTON ARCHDIOCESE STILL REJECTS VATICAN COUNCIL II

BOSTON ARCHDIOCESE STILL REJECTS VATICAN COUNCIL II

The Ecumenical and Inter Religious Dialogue Affiars Dept., Archdiocese of Boston  has become highly political. Dialogue is being conducted with only one group of Jews, those who are pro abortion and homosexuality and teach syncretism.  The website only refers to ADL, Boston College Center for Jewish Christian Learning, SIDIC and Rabbis who share their ideology.
The Archdiocese which continues dialogue with only the Jewish Left has still not affirmed Vatican Council II on its website.
Unlike the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) the Archdiocese priests and bishops have canonical status and are not excommunicated.Cardinal Sean O’Malley has criticised the SSPX leadership and during the time of the issuance of the moto proprio went to Rome and met the Holy Father. The Archdiocese reflects the ADL interpretation of Vatican Council II.Fr. Edward M. O'Flaherty, SJ, Director of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs, Fr. David C. Michael Associate Director for Interreligious Relations had made the following material available on its website.

ADL online guide: Nostra Aetate: Transforming the Catholic-Jewish Relationship. (http://www.adl.org/main_Interfaith/nostra_aetate.htm) includes essays by some of the world's leading Jewish-Catholic interfaith experts who analyze the history and significance of Nostra Aetate, (http://www.adl.org/main_Interfaith/nostra_aetate_whatisit.htm) as well as a practical "how-to" guide on teaching the lessons of Nostra Aetate to new generations of Catholics and Jews.

For years now they have been carrying similar material even after being informed.
The above mentioned material has been removed from the website however there is still no affirmation of Vatican Council II.
This “Catholic” website recently mentioned that the Jewish Anti-Defamation League‘(ADL) has announced the creation of a new online guide which explains the historic changes in Church theology and provides educational resources in order to teach them. The Archdiocese encouraged it. The educational resources never mentioned that the much-publicised Nostra Aetate does not say that Judaism is a path to salvation. Neither does Nostra Aetate say that Jews in general are saved in Judaism or that Jews do not have to convert. So the educational resources were in error.
Neither does the website now say that they have discarded the ADL educational resources.
The Catholic Church sees salvation among the Jews and Muslims as the extraordinary, exceptional way. This is how Lumen Gentium 16 and Vatican Council II are officially interpreted by the Catholic Church.
The Archdiocese of Boston Ecumenical and Inter Religious Affairs department puts aside Vatican Council II as interpreted by the Church and only what is liked and comfortable is chosen. Nostra Aetate is served without Vatican Council II’s Ad Gentes, the Church’s teaching on Missionary Activity. Ad Gentes 7 says all people need to enter the Catholic Church.
Lumen Gentium 14 says Catholic Faith and Baptism are needed for all. The website holds that non Catholic religions are the ordinary way of salvation.
The Decree on Ecumenism (UR) 3, Vatican Council II: Catholic Church is the true faith.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church 845: God the Father wants all people to worship Him and to enter the Catholic Church. God the Father wants all people to be united into the Catholic Church.
The Notification, N.7, on Fr. Jacques Dupuis S.J, by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican (Prefect: Cardinal Ratzinger) : All people need to be oriented into the Catholic Church and to be a part of her.
THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE THE EUCHARIST
Do the priests and laypersons who maintain the website have the right to celebrate Holy Mass and/or receive the Holy Eucharist?
A Catholic Religious needs to believe in the teaching outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation, since it is linked to the Creed (Nicene and Apostles) and the First Commandment. Otherwise the religious has no right canonically to call himself a Catholic. If he is a priest he is not to celebrate Holy Mass or to receive the Holy Eucharist. Extra ecclesiam nulla salus is a dogma of the Catholic Church. To reject a dogma is a mortal sin.

ECCLESIA DEI INDULT
The website is a negative proclamation of the clergy in Boston.
Cardinal Castrillion Hoyes former Prefect of the Vatican Ecclesia Dei required all priests who celebrate Holy Mass according to the Tridentine Rite to sign an indult stating that they accept the Catholic Church’s interpretation of Vatican Council II.
Cardinal Sean O'Malley, Archbishop of Boston who gives the Eucharist to pro abortion politicians rejecting Catholic moral teaching ,has never affirmed Ad Gentes 7 and Lumen Gentium 14 of Vatican Council II with reference to the Jews, thus rejecting also a faith-teaching of the Catholic Church.
Neither has he corrected Boston College which rejects Vatican Council II and has also never clarified the old Boston Case in which Fr. Leonard Feeney was not excommunicated for heresy and the Letter of the Holy Office 1949 upheld the 'dogma’ and the 'infallible' teaching as did Fr. Leonard Feeney and the St. Benedict Center(SBC). The SBC was placed under interdiction by the Archbishop of Boston Cardinal Richard Cushing which was an injustice to them and an apology is due from the Archdiocese of Boston and the Jesuits at Boston College.

The Society of St. Pius X bishops were excommunicated for rejecting Vatican Council II. They still do not have canonical status. However the clergy in the Archdiocese of Boston are spared.
They have not affirmed the dogma or Vatican Council II on their website.
The website suggestsCatholics should not convert Jews (for the sake of good relations) and that Judaism is an equal path to salvation as the Catholic Faith.
There are Jewish Rabbis who have publicly criticized the ADL and have said that they do no object to Catholic Mission and Catholics converting Jews, since they also pray for the conversion of Christians. They also oppose the ADL on the subject of homosexuality and abortion.

FR.LEONARD FEENEY OF BOSTON
According to Wikipedia Fr. Feeney of Boston, was reconciled to the Church in 1972, but was not required to retract nor recant his interpretation of extra ccclesiam nulla salus.
This is a dogma of the Catholic Church from the Council of Florence. It is a dogma like the Immaculate Conception of Mary and so all Catholics have to believe and teach it just like Fr. Feeney.
It was repeated in Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II which says all people need to enter the Catholic Church through Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water for salvation. ALL.
Subsist it in refers to the unique and only Church of God (Unitatis Redintigratio 3) which exists in only the Catholic Church. So everyone, with no exception needs to enter the Catholic Church to go to Heaven and avoid Hell.
To re-cap: De facto everybody needs to enter the Catholic Church to go Heaven and avoid Hell. De jure (in principle and in theology) non Catholics can be saved without the Sacraments and we cannot judge who they specifically are. Only Jesus will judge.
The Letter of the Holy Office to the Archbishop of Boston (1949) affirmed the ‘dogma’ and the ‘infallible’ teaching.
The Archdiocese over the last few years has rejected Vatican Council II

1) They contradict the dogma mentioned in the Letter of the Holy Office 1949.The dogma has always said that everybody needs to enter the Catholic Church and de facto there are no exceptions like unconscious desire.
2) They contradict Dominus Iesus 21. Salvation is open to all in general but to receive it one has to enter the Catholic Church. This is a de jure and de facto statement in Dominus Iesus.
3) They contradict Fr. Leonard Feeney and his present day communities who have been given canonical status by the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Worcester, USA .They uphold the same teaching of their founder.
4) They priests contradict Ad Gentes 7, Vatican Council II and Lumen Gentium 14, Vatican Council II.

Fr. Edward M. O'Flaherty, SJ, Director of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs,Boston Archdiocese and Rev.Fr. David C. Michael Associate Director for Interreligious Relations are not excommunicated and they have canonical status.
