Two versions of Catholic doctrine in single week in Rome

One Rector says Jews need to convert another that they do not

Yesterday at the Church of Santa Maria in Via Lata, via del Corso, Rome I spoke with Don Franco,  the Rector. I mentioned that a few months back at Mass I heard him say in a homily that Jews do not have to convert. After listening to him for a while I realized he was only confirming what I heard him say at Mass.

Vatican Council II (Ad Gentes 7) meant nothing to him and neither did the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Last Sunday at Holy Mass at the Church of the Annunziata in the homily Fr. Giovanni, the Rector said that Jews need to accept the New Covenant for salvation. He said that baptism was needed. He spoke on the necessity of the church.

While at a church placed  in between the Church of the Annunziata and Santa Maria in Via Lata, Fr. George Puthoor, a Rosiminian priest said last Sunday that everyone must be a visible member of the Catholic Church for salvation. It is on video.

He said that Lumen Gentium 16 refers to de jure and not de facto salvation. So it does not contradict the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Here is the ex cathedra dogma.

1. “There is but one universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved.” (Pope Innocent III, Fourth Lateran Council, 1215.).

2. “We declare, say, define, and pronounce that it is absolutely necessary for the salvation of every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff.” (Pope Boniface VIII, the Bull Unam Sanctam, 302.).

3.“The most Holy Roman Church firmly believes, professes and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics, can have a share in life eternal; but that they will go into the eternal fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels, unless before death they are joined with Her; and that so important is the unity of this ecclesiastical body that only those remaining within this unity can profit by the sacraments of the Church unto salvation, and they alone can receive an eternal recompense for their fasts, their almsgivings, their other works of Christian piety and the duties of a Christian soldier. No one, let his almsgiving be as great as it may, no one, even if he pour out his blood for the Name of Christ, can be saved, unless he remain within the bosom and the unity of the Catholic Church.” (Pope Eugene IV, the Bull Cantate Domino, 1441.)
The dogma says that everyone de facto needs to be a member of the Catholic Church.

It does not say only those who know about the Catholic Church need to enter to avoid Hell. They definitely need to enter!
All non Catholics need to enter the Church to avoid Hell is the centuries old teaching. They all need to be a visible member of the Church. If there are any cases of invincible ignorance or the baptism of desire it will be known only to God. There are no de facto cases of the baptism of desire that we know of.
It may be mentioned that Cardinals Bertone, Bagnasco and Kaper have publicly said that Jews do not have to convert in the present times. This is contrary to the infallible teaching and Vatican Council II. It is heresy and a mortal sin in public. A priest in this condition would be considered automatically excommunicated. Fr.Tissa Balasurya OMI was excommunicated for denying the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady. Cardinal Bertone was at that time the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
It may be mentioned that Our Lady at Fatima said that 'the dogma of the faith' will be lost except in Portugal. At other locutions and apparitions she has said that Satan will enter the Church and many religious would compromise the faith.
If the 'dogma of the faith' was extra ecclesiam nulla salus it is being changed or denied at the level of the Holy Father's Curia. The Italian cardinals claim they have the support of the pope.
There has been no Vatican denial of the statement made by Cardinal Bertone to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He stated in writing that the Revised Good Friday Prayer was not for the conversion of Jews in the present times.Cardinal Walter Kasper has frequently denied the ex cathedra teaching and is allowed to celebrate Holy Mass.
Cardinal Bertone who made important decisions on the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, is in public, under pressure, denying and changing the Catholic Faith.
